Ted Scherpenberg is appointed to Board of Trustees
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Theodore Scherpenberg to the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees, for a term beginning September 27, 2024, and ending August 31, 2026.
Scherpenberg is the Chief Financial Officer of The Christ Hospital Health Network, one of the region’s largest health systems with 6,500 employees and $1.4 billion in annual revenues.
“We’re very happy to have Ted join our Board and appreciate the Governor’s appointment. Ted brings great financial knowledge to the Board and to the College,” said John Silverman, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
A life-long resident of Greater Cincinnati, Scherpenberg earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting, both from the University of Cincinnati.
After graduating from UC in 2006, he joined Ernst & Young, LLP. In 2012 he joined The Christ Hospital, rising from controller to chief accounting officer, and to chief financial officer in 2020.
In 2022, Scherpenberg received the Cincinnati Business Courier’s C-Suite Award for Nonprofit Chief Financial Officers.
“I see The Christ Hospital Health Network as a true community asset, and the same goes for Cincinnati State,” Scherpenberg said. “Having great healthcare and strong educational pathways like those provided by Cincinnati State is essential to building a strong community.”
President Monica Posey said, “Cincinnati State is fortunate to have Mr. Scherpenberg appointed to the Board. His background and experience will greatly enhance our work.”
Scherpenberg also serves on the finance committees of The Health Collaborative and the Ohio Hospital Association. In addition, he is chair of the finance council for Nativity of Our Lord Parish and School.
He and his wife Jenn, who is a nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, have a daughter, Kennedy, age 11, and a son, Theo, age 8. The family resides in Amberly Village.
Governor also reappoints three trustees
Governor DeWine reappointed George Vincent, Dr. Rajbir Minhas, and Manuel Chavez III to the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees, for terms beginning September 27, 2024, and ending August 31, 2030.
“I am pleased these three board members have been reappointed,” said Dr. Posey. “They have been instrumental in the success achieved by the College and will help us shape an even more impressive, high-impact future.”
