CState Complete outreach & services for “stopped out” students featured in Ch. 9 news report
CState Complete, Cincinnati State’s new program that assists “stopped out” students in returning to college and completing their degree requirements, was featured in a report on WCPO-TV (Channel 9) that aired several times during news broadcasts on July 10, 2024.

The CState Complete program, which is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, began full-scale operations in Summer 2024.
Allyson Knue, the CState Complete Project Manager, said four students serve as “Student Connectors,” under the supervision of Reconnection Team Leader Don Pollock. The Student Connectors have been reaching out this summer to nearly 500 students who stopped attending Cincinnati State but have only a few credits needed to complete their degree.
As mentioned in the Ch. 9 story, nearly half of the students contacted since June have responded to CState Complete outreach, and five students who returned for summer 10-week classes are finishing their remaining degree requirements this semester.
Allyson said outreach campaigns will continue each semester to contact students who are near degree completion and were enrolled in prior terms, but not enrolled in the current term.
The CState Complete program also includes financial support for returning students, including “College Comeback” debt relief and Completion Scholarships.
Allyson said CState Complete staff members are scheduling presentations across campus to share how faculty and staff members can submit referrals for students who have stopped out (or are considering stopping out) and connect these students with CState Complete services.
