Cincinnati State trustee to receive educational leadership award

Cincinnati State trustee Laurie Nippert Leonard has been selected to receive the Ohio Association of
Community Colleges (OACC) 2014 Richard N. Adams Educational Leadership Award.

The award recognizes “an active commitment to, and participation in, trustee education and engagement”
over an extended period of time. It is named in honor of Dr. Richard N. Adams, who served for 18 years
as a trustee of Edison Community College.

Mrs. Leonard, an Indian Hill resident, is senior sales vice president for Comey & Shepherd Realtors and a
community volunteer.  She is an elected Director of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors and serves as a
Director of the Ohio Association of Realtors. A graduate of Rollins College, she was first appointed to the
Cincinnati State board in 2004, and has been the elected secretary to the board since 2006. Her present
term expires August 31, 2016.

Mrs. Leonard also serves on the Cincinnati State Foundation Board of Directors.

The award will be presented to Mrs. Leonard Thursday, May 29 during a luncheon ceremony in suburban Columbus.

This marks the second time in three years that a Cincinnati State trustee was chosen to receive the
award, President Owens noted at Tuesday’s meeting. Trustee Mark Walton was presented the award in 2012.
