Campus Life

Cincinnati State is a vibrant urban community college that serves a broad mix of students of different cultures, ages and life experiences.

All of our students commute to campus. About 30 percent take classes full-time. Many have family and employment obligations in addition to their academic responsibilities.

We pride ourselves on providing environments– at the main location in Clifton, and at our Middletown, Evendale and Harrison locations– that serve the practical and social needs of our students. From parking to dining to classroom and lab facilities, our team is constantly working to create a first-class student experience. Classes can also be taken at the Butler Tech bioscience campus in West Chester.

“The campus is absolutely safe, diverse, and has great instructors. The bakery and lunch room have amazing food. The campus is easy to navigate with many friendly people to talk with in the hallways.”

The Clifton location, strategically located on several major bus lines and within walking distance of affordable, desirable residential neighborhoods, maintains state-of-the-art computer labs, study lounges, dining options, free workout facilities, gym access, and recreational areas. The welcoming, high-tech library is full of student-friendly staffers – and when it’s time for a break, the campus features one of Greater Cincinnati’s better Frisbee golf courses.  Clifton Campus also includes a functional arboretum, a testament to our widely recognized landscape horticulture programs.

The College offers a full range of traditional student life activities and programming, with clubs and organizations, guest lectures, student government activities, and numerous student-focused events.

We have an active community of international students, and in recent years the College has been involved in educational “learning by helping” trips to Guatemala.

Several of our student clubs are affiliated with career interests– such as engineering technologies, environmental technologies, respiratory care, horticulture, and more. Some of these groups participate regularly in national or regional competitions that may involve trips far from campus.

Cincinnati State is also home to several clubs and organizations dedicated to the diverse needs and interests of our students. These groups include Adult Learners on Campus, the Black Male Initiative and the Women’s Empowerment Alliance.
