Overview

The Fire Service Instructor Certificate prepares students to earn certification as an Ohio Fire Instructor. After successfully completing the certificate, students can take the Instructor Techniques Exam offered by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Medical Services.

To enter the program, students must have at least five years of experience (within the last seven years) as an Ohio-certified firefighter, hold a valid Ohio firefighter certificate in good standing, and have passed the Firefighter Level II Ohio Instructor knowledge examination within the past year.
