Robert McKenna retires from Cincinnati State Board of Trustees
Robert McKenna, a third-term member of the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees, has announced his
retirement from the board.
Mr. McKenna is the Executive Vice President of F&M Mafco, Inc., a Cincinnati-based company that
provides heavy rigging packages, cranes, on-site tooling, welding systems and other services
to customers in power generation, petrochemical, construction and other industries across the country.
He began his service on the Cincinnati State Board of Trustees in 2000. He is a former chairman of that
body and is an active supporter of the Cincinnati State Foundation.
Gov. John Kasich had appointed him to a third consecutive term in February, 2013. That term expires Aug. 31, 2018.
“Cincinnati State has benefitted enormously from Bob McKenna’s service on the board,” said President
O’dell M. Owens. “He is one of those business executives who have always understood the value of
technical education and the role that Cincinnati State plays in the region’s economy. More to the point, he
has helped us carry out that mission.”
Cathy Crain, the current board chair, said McKenna supported the College through his sponsorship of the
annual Cincinnati State Scholarship Golf Outing, his support of the airport operations at Cincinnati State
West and through his advice and decision-making on the board. “He had the courage of his convictions
and the confidence to give them voice,” she said.
Members of the nine-member board of trustees serve without compensation. Gov. Kasich is expected to
name a successor to serve the remainder of Mr. McKenna’s term.
