Cincinnati State to host “Lunch & Learn” for employers June 10
As part of its effort to help employers find qualified workers for skilled and entry-level positions, Cincinnati
State’s Workforce Development Center will host a “Lunch and Learn” event on Tuesday, June 10.
The event will run from Noon – 1:30 p.m. at the Workforce Development Center, 10100 Reading Road in
Evendale; lunch will be provided. Among the featured programs:
Get Skills to Work. This is a certification program developed by Cincinnati State in partnership
with General Electric and other manufacturers. It provides skills training for veterans and others
looking for new opportunities. These graduates can fill entry level positions.
Welding, Machine Operator I. This is a certification program that prepares students to take the
state board tests and come to the workplace quickly
CNC Machine Operator II. This is another certification program that prepares students to take
the state board tests. Like the Welding/Machine Operator I program, it is offered in an accelerated
format with classroom instruction and hands-on experience.
Those who attend the event will not be asked to pledge financial support or commit to hire specific
numbers of employees in these programs. Rather, the Workforce Development Center is aiming to
develop partnerships that give employers access to information about successful graduates, and the
College information about potential job openings.
Employers interested in attending the event are asked to RSVP to Veterans Affairs Career Advisor
Christine Yancey by June 6 at christine.yancey@cincinnatistate.edu or (513) 569-4254.
