Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) is a hands-on course providing the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to successfully address spill response operations and site environmental cleanup of hazardous substances. You’ll learn basic chemistry and toxicology, employment and operation of air monitoring equipment, multi-stage decontamination operations, spill control and containment strategies, how to develop and implement an incident response plan for containment and cleanup, and operate within an Incident Command System environment or within a Site Environmental Health and Safety Plan.
