Building on skills developed in the Machine Operator 1 Program, Machine Operator 2 delivers more in-depth programming of computerized numerical control equipment. Programs will be developed utilizing simulators, coupled with the operation of a CNC machining center and CNC lathe. Machine Operator 2 provides students with step-by-step instruction of CNC machining processes, an introduction to CAD/CAM and the inspection of parts. This course is designed for machine operators, machinists, programmers, engineers and supervisors. The in-class courses and projects consist of 180 hours of training.
The primary training outcome will be to understand and develop CNC programs that will produce machine parts per industrial blueprint specifications and standards.
