Cincy State EMT and Paramedic programs help meet community needs
Cincinnati State’s Emergency Medical Services certificate programs were highlighted in a WCPO (Channel 9) report on how the College is helping to address critical public safety needs.
The September 30, 2024, report noted that both nationally and locally, there is need for additional skilled emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics.
Program Chair Shawn Stacey and several students described the benefits of Cincinnati State’s 15-week EMT certificate program and the full-year EMT-Paramedic certificate program. Cincinnati State also offers an EMT Paramedic Science degree program.
The WCPO report shows how EMT students are using the College’s Health Simulation Lab (SIM Lab) to gain hands-on skills practice with high-tech mannequins that can simulate symptoms of patients in need of emergency services.
