Diaper drive for the Parenting Resource Center received many donations

The Parenting Resource Center at Cincinnati State received over 1,000 diapers and baby wipes as a result of a project organized by student Yoshua Simms in collaboration with the Black Male Initiative organization.

Supplies were donated by Cincinnati State employees and students, and some contributions also came from individuals not affiliated with College who read about the project on social media.

Yoshua said an additional $220 was donated to support the Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank.

The Parenting Resource Center (PRC), located in Main Building Room 135, provides services and resources to help students who are also parents to meet challenges and achieve success.

Denise Gabrelski, Director of the Center, said the PRC “tries to keep a healthy stock of diapers and wipes to accommodate urgent need requests.” When possible, these supplies are shared with the Surge Cupboard also.

Students in need can stop by the PRC or send an email message to studentparent@cincinnatistate.edu.
