New articulation agreements with UC provide pathways for Engineering Technologies students

On February 17, 2023, the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science hosted a team from Cincinnati State to finalize several articulation agreements that provide clear and efficient transfer pathways from five Cincinnati State Engineering Technology programs into programs at UC.

Doug Bowling, Dean of the Engineering & Information Technologies Division, said work on this project has been in progress for more than a year, spearheaded by CState faculty member Larry Feist (Program Chair, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology) and Assistant Dean Mandy Albrecht from UC Engineering. 

“During the past year, our program chairs and their counterparts at UC have been working on aligning program requirements, establishing a Transfer Degree Map for each program, and discussing admission criteria and available scholarships,” Dean Bowling said.

With the new agreements (as well as agreements that were already in place), students who have completed an applicable Associate of Applied Science degree at Cincinnati State will bring from 46 to 72 degree-applicable transferable credit hoursto UC, depending on the program.

Articulation agreements have been established for these Engineering Technologies programs:

• Chemical Technology
• Civil Engineering Technology – Construction Management
• Electrical Engineering Technology
• Environmental Engineering Technology
• Mechanical Engineering Technology – Design Major
