Need continuing education and/or CEUs to update credentials, licenses, and certifications? The Workforce Development Center offers a variety of training options to meet your needs.
Offering short-term credentials and certifications, customized training, and assessments, we train face-to-face either on our campus or at your site. We also provide a combination of online and hybrid (face-to-face and online) learning options.
Paramedic Refresher
An online refresher training program, consisting of 39 hours of instructor-led online training, with nine hours of practical skills training. Once participants complete the online training, a practical skills session is delivered by qualified EMS instructors. This course has received approval from the National Registry to satisfy Section 1 of the recertification requirements 48 hour Refresher. This course is accredited through the State of Ohio as a 48 hour Refresher.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support is a certification for healthcare providers that provides recognition and treatment protocols for Acute Coronary Syndrome and Stroke patients. Both the initial Provider course and the Renewal course are offered to medical groups whose employees are required to be certified for their employment.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider and Renewal classes: A course on knowledge and skills for evaluating and managing the pediatric patient in the first 10-15 minutes of a critical acute illness. This course is specifically designed for pre-hospital/hospital personnel that are interested in adding a certification to their resume or are required by their employer to be certified in Pediatric Advance Life Support.

EMT Refresher
An online refresher training program, consisting of 24 hours of instructor-led online training, with 6 hours of Practical Skills training. Once participants complete the online training, a practical skills session is delivered by qualified EMS instructors. This course has received approval from the National Registry to satisfy Section 1 of the recertification requirements 24 hour Refresher. This course is accredited through the State of Ohio as a 30 hour Refresher.

Basic Life Support
The AHA’s BLS Provider Course reflects science and education from the 2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

OSHA 8-Hour HAZWOPER (HazMat) Refresher Workshop
Hands-on and classroom training providing an OSHA-mandated annual review and update for all individuals handling hazardous substances, designated as HazMat emergency responders, and/or environmental cleanup General and Occasional site workers.
OSHA 8-Hour Confined Space and Entry Refresher Workshop
Classroom training and hands-on practical exercises required annually by OSHA for all individuals designated to provide immediate emergency rescue from an OSHA-permitted confined space.
