Student Activities provides opportunities for students to participate in diverse social and educational activities and events, on and off campus. We encourage all students to get involved in planning and implementing campus events and activities, so your experiences at Cincinnati State will be something you always remember.
Want to get involved in a clubs or organization on campus? We have about two dozen active clubs and organizations during any given semester.
All Cincinnati State students, faculty, and staff members must have a Surge ID Card with you at all times for security purposes. Surge ID Cards are available in the Student Activities Office and online through MyCstate.
Metro Discount Card – Program Information
How does the program work?
Cincinnati State and Metro are working together to provide discounted rates to students on many routes.
- The program allows students to swipe a special Cincinnati State-Metro discount card (with photo) and then pay just $1 to ride Metro in any zone, with a transfer for just 50 cents.
- This is a significant discount over regular Metro fares that range from $1.75 for zone 1 up to $4.25 for zone 5.
How do I get a Cincinnati State-Metro discount card?
To get your discount card, log into MyCState, choose MyServices, and click on Transportation. (You must have a valid SurgeCard to order a Metro card.)
- The card is free, and will be mailed to you within three to five business days in a plain white envelope.
- The discount card will be issued only to students who are currently enrolled.
- Metro scanners will not accept standard Cincinnati State ID cards (Surge Card)
How often do I need to get a new Metro card?
The card is valid for one semester only. Each semester you must order a new card.
*Dates are subject to change*
