Surge Cupboard received special donations
During the month of January 2023, more than 50 students visited the Surge Cupboard Food Pantry, where currently-enrolled Cincinnati State students can receive a 3-day supply of food and toiletries at no cost, by showing their Surge Card (student ID card).
Faculty member Kelly Edmondson (First Year Experience instructor in Humanities & Sciences) helped facilitate a recent special contribution to the Surge Cupboard in collaboration with a volunteer from Procter & Gamble.
- Kelly was volunteering at a December toy drive for children of veterans where another volunteer offered to help Kelly obtain donations of food and hygiene products from P&G.
- So far, Kelly has been able to provide the Surge Cupboard with about 100 bags filled with P&G items, including small containers of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, and after shave, along with disposable razors, and food products including Kind bars, dried fruit, and beef jerky.
“I was grateful to know there are many generous people in our community who want to contribute to our CState students’ needs,” Kelly said.
