CINCINNATI STATE SUSPENDS PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH
The Cincinnati State Technical and Community College Board of Trustees has suspended its search for a president. The Board announced its decision tonight at its monthly meeting. Dr. John L. Henderson will continue as interim president until 2010.
Robert W. McKenna, Jr., board chairman, said, “As the search process went on, board members sensed and had confirmed a more positive, mission-driven atmosphere within the College. This atmosphere has to be attributed to Dr. Henderson’s leadership In light of this and to provide continuity and sustain the momentum we have, the Board has decided to suspend the search for a president until 2009.
“This decision does not reflect on the quality of the candidates interviewed. Instead, it reflects on the qualities Dr. Henderson has brought to us.”
Dr. Henderson, retired president of Wilberforce University, became Cincinnati State’s interim president last November. He took over after Dr. Ron Wright resigned in October. Dr. Henderson was a vice president at Cincinnati State in the 1980s.
